Matthew Broersma's books include thrillers (Hawaii, Éditions Flblb; Insomnia, Vertige Graphic), sketchbook travelogues (Le Grand Tour, Éditions Flblb; Two Days in a Boat, mattmatt books), fantasy (The Mummy, Drawn & Quarterly), autobiography (Détour, Vertige Graphic) and comic strips (Les 9 vies du chat blanc, mattmatt books). He has contributed short works to anthologies in Europe, Asia and North America, including 42 000km (Employé du Moi), Black (Coconino Press/Vertige Graphic), Comix2000 (l'Association), l'Eprouvette (l'Association), Flblb (Éditions Flblb), Le Phacochère (Groinge), Polyominos (Employé du Moi), Stereoscomic, Spoutnik and Top Shelf.
Broersma received his Master's degree (hons.) in illustration from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design in England. His illustration work has been featured in the British Association of Illustrators' Images showcase, and he has been an artist-in-residence at La Maison des Auteurs in Angoulême, France.
